TERMS & CONDITIONS

Policy date: 20 December 2020. Last updated: 24 October 2026.

1. ABOUT US AND YOUR AGREEMENT

Empower Yourself, Serenquility and Finding Your One are trading names of Empower Yourself Coaching Ltd (company number 13058875), registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 118 Heathcote Road, Whitnash, Leamington Spa, England, CV31 2LY. Business address: Empoweryourself, Tyldesley, Manchester, M29 8SJ, United Kingdom. Contact admin@empoweryourselfcoaching.com or 07833 747876. Website: www.empoweryourselfcoaching.com. Our insurance provider is Hiscox; cover is subject to the terms and scope of the relevant policy.

These terms apply to consumers booking services or buying products directly from us. The description and any service-specific terms supplied before purchase also form part of your agreement. We identify the supplier responsible for your service. Corporate commissions use a separate written proposal and contract.

Browsing or making an enquiry does not create a paid booking. A contract is formed when we expressly accept your order or booking in writing, unless the checkout clearly identifies an earlier acceptance point. If we cannot accept an order, we tell you and refund any payment taken for it.

2. SERVICES, PRICES AND ELIGIBILITY

Before payment, we explain the service/product, price, dates, delivery method, duration, inclusions, access requirements and prerequisites. Prices are in GBP unless stated otherwise. The total payable, including applicable taxes and delivery, is disclosed before purchase.

These terms cover customers aged 18 or over. Course accreditation, assessment requirements, certificates and access periods apply only as specifically described for the course. Enquiries about planned events do not reserve a confirmed place or guarantee availability.

3. COACHING, THERAPIES AND READINGS

We provide services with reasonable care and skill, within the practitioner's qualifications and scope. Coaching and complementary services do not replace appropriate medical assessment or treatment and are not an emergency service. Discuss medical questions and prescribed treatment with your healthcare professional.

Provide relevant information needed to assess suitability, such as health conditions, medication or injuries. A separate consultation and informed consent process may apply. You may decline a technique or ask to stop. If a service is unsuitable, we discuss alternatives and any refund due for services not provided.

Outcomes vary. We do not guarantee healing, recovery, weight change, a relationship or other personal results. Love and relationship readings offer reflection and personal insight; they do not establish facts about someone else, predict certain outcomes or replace medical, legal or financial advice.

4. FINDING YOUR ONE

Matchmaking, coaching, readings and events are separate services unless your written package expressly combines them. Before purchase, we specify the package duration, assessment process, deliverables, any promised number/frequency of introductions, eligibility criteria, fees and cancellation arrangements.

An enquiry or assessment does not guarantee acceptance, a suitable introduction or a relationship. Readings do not determine compatibility or event invitations. Members must provide accurate information and behave respectfully. Harassment, coercion and unauthorised sharing of private information are unacceptable.

We explain checks actually performed and their limits. Do not assume every participant has been background-checked. You decide whether to meet or exchange details. Agreed profile information is shared only for the explained introduction process; direct contact details are exchanged only with mutual agreement. Report concerns promptly and take sensible personal safety precautions.

We may pause participation where reasonably necessary to investigate safety concerns. If we end a paid service, we explain the reason where lawful and assess any refund fairly for the service not supplied. This does not permit automatic forfeiture of all fees.

5. STATUTORY CANCELLATION RIGHTS

Consumers buying a service online or by phone will normally have 14 days from entering the contract to cancel without giving a reason, unless a legal exception applies. For goods, the period normally runs for 14 days after delivery. Notify us using the contact details above; the optional form below may be used but is not compulsory.

If you expressly ask us to start a service during its cancellation period and then cancel, we may charge proportionately for services provided before cancellation where legally permitted and the required information was supplied. You lose the cancellation right for a fully performed service during that period only when all legal requirements, including your express request and acknowledgement, are met.

For paid digital downloads or streaming supplied immediately, cancellation rights are lost only when supply begins after your express consent and acknowledgement that you will lose that right, with the required contract confirmation. Accepting these terms alone is not that separate consent. Rights concerning faulty or misdescribed content remain.

Some leisure services on a specific date or period are exempt from cooling-off rights. We identify any applicable exception before purchase; we do not automatically class all workshops, courses, webinars or therapies as exempt.

Refunds due on cancellation follow statutory timescales and normally use the original payment method without an administration fee. Service refunds are normally made within 14 days of notification. For goods, we may normally wait for return or evidence of return, whichever comes first.

6. APPOINTMENT, COURSE AND EVENT CHANGES

Please give at least 24 hours of notice before the appointment start time to cancel or rearrange. With at least 24 hours of notice, we offer rearrangement or refund of the unused appointment fee. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours of notice, and missed appointments, are normally non-refundable. Any amount retained is limited to reasonable net loss, accounting for costs saved and replacement bookings; any excess is refunded. Exceptional circumstances are considered fairly. This does not override statutory cancellation rights, rights where we cancel or fail to supply properly, or other legal remedies. This applies to appointments, not automatically to goods, downloads, courses, event tickets or matchmaking packages.

Course and event cancellation or transfer arrangements are explained in the offer before purchase. Unless different fair terms are expressly agreed before purchase, cancellation charges are limited to reasonable net loss after accounting for costs saved and replacement bookings. Statutory cancellation rights remain.

If we cancel, you may choose any offered alternative or a refund for the cancelled service. We discuss material changes with you; statutory remedies remain. Unavoidable disruption does not automatically remove refund rights.

7. GOODS AND DIGITAL RESOURCES

We deliver physical goods within the agreed period, or normally within 30 days if none is agreed. Contact us about delay, damage or incorrect items. For a statutory change-of-mind return, normally notify us within 14 days of delivery and return goods within a further 14 days. We refund basic outbound delivery where required. Customers bear return postage only if disclosed before purchase; we bear reasonable return costs for faulty or incorrect goods. Any deduction for handling beyond necessary inspection must be lawful.

Delivery destinations, charges and estimated times are shown in the relevant offer or checkout before payment. Contact us at admin@empoweryourselfcoaching.com before returning goods so we can provide return instructions and the appropriate returns address. Any personalised-goods exception is identified before purchase. Statutory rights for faulty goods remain.

Digital resources are for your own use, not resale, redistribution or public upload. Course access lasts for the period stated in the relevant offer before purchase and confirmed with your order. Technical requirements and download availability are explained before purchase. Contact us about access difficulties. Copying restrictions do not limit rights granted by law.

8. CONFIDENTIALITY AND RECORDINGS

Our Privacy Policy explains personal information use. Practitioners explain confidentiality and necessary limits before work begins, including disclosures required by law or to address a serious safety risk. Group participants are asked to respect confidentiality, but we cannot guarantee another person's behaviour.

We explain proposed recordings, purpose and audience in advance and obtain the appropriate agreement. Booking is not permission to use your image, testimonial or story in advertising. Do not record others or share their private information without agreement.

9. COMPLAINTS, LIABILITY AND LAW

Contact admin@empoweryourselfcoaching.com about problems. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and provide a substantive response within 20 working days, explaining any delay.

Nothing here excludes statutory consumer rights, liability for death/personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. We remain responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Lack of a guaranteed personal outcome does not excuse failing to supply the agreed service.

English law governs these terms. Consumers retain mandatory protections and the right to use the courts available under applicable law, including their UK home jurisdiction where applicable. Updates apply to future bookings unless changes to an existing contract are lawfully agreed.

PRIVACY POLICY

Policy date: 20 December 2020. Last updated: 24 October 2026.

1. WHO WE ARE

Empower Yourself Coaching Ltd (company number 13058875), registered in England and Wales, is the data controller for Empower Yourself, Serenquility and Finding Your One. Registered office: 118 Heathcote Road, Whitnash, Leamington Spa, England, CV31 2LY. Business contact address: Empoweryourself, Tyldesley, Manchester, M29 8SJ, United Kingdom. Contact admin@empoweryourselfcoaching.com or 07833 747876.

2. INFORMATION AND SOURCES

We receive information you give through enquiries, forms, purchases, bookings, conversations and service participation. This may include name, contact details, age/date of birth where needed, location, preferences, order/attendance records and correspondence. Payment providers process payment information; we receive transaction/payment-status records. Karen Johal operates without staff; please do not send full card details by email or enquiry form.

Coaching or therapy may involve goals, consultation information, relevant health information and session notes. Matchmaking may involve relationship status, lifestyle, interests, preferences, photographs, interview notes, agreed profile information and feedback. Avoid naming former partners or disclosing unnecessary information about other people.

Health, sex life, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religious beliefs can be special category information. We collect this only where necessary for a specified service and supported by a valid additional legal condition. Website device, security, usage and cookie information may also be collected.

3. PURPOSES AND LAWFUL BASES

Enquiries and bookings: answering requests, assessing the requested service, arranging delivery and administering payments. Basis: requested steps before a contract and performance of a contract. General correspondence may instead rely on legitimate interests in responding and running the business.

Service records: providing the agreed service and maintaining appropriate records. Basis: contract. For necessary special category consultation or matchmaking information, we obtain separate, specific explicit consent before collection, unless another applicable legal condition is explained. An ordinary enquiry or acceptance of terms alone is not explicit consent.

Administration, security and disputes: legitimate interests in managing a secure business, preventing misuse and establishing/defending claims, balanced against your rights. Tax/accounting: applicable legal obligations. Where necessary, a separate legal-claims condition may support special category processing.

Email tips/offers: consent where required, separate from booking or guide requests. Necessary booking, access and payment communications support the service and are distinct from marketing. Optional marketing cookies: consent.

4. MARKETING CHOICES

Downloading a free guide, making an enquiry or purchasing does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. Where requested, consent is optional and separate. Unsubscribe using the email link or contact us without affecting your booking.

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO DIRECT MARKETING USE OF YOUR INFORMATION, INCLUDING RELATED PROFILING. We will stop that use. A minimal suppression record may be retained so we respect your choice.

5. MATCHMAKING INFORMATION

Profiles are not public dating listings. We agree which profile details and photographs may be shared with a potential introduction; full questionnaires and private support notes are not routinely shared. Contact details are exchanged only with both people's agreement.

We use your stated preferences and questionnaire responses to help identify possible introductions. Karen reviews suggestions before an introduction is proposed. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing. Private support information is not repurposed for marketing profiles.

6. RECIPIENTS

Access is limited to people who need information for the relevant task. Recipients may include practitioners/facilitators, website/form hosts, course platforms, email/automation services, IT/storage providers, payment processors, accountants and professional advisers. Necessary disclosures may be made to insurers for claims, authorities where required, or others to address a serious safety issue with a lawful basis.

Our providers include Wix for the website, forms, bookings and customer records; Kajabi for online courses and related customer communications; Tally for questionnaires; Make for workflow automation; and Google Workspace for business email and document storage. Payment providers process payments through the relevant checkout. We use these providers only as needed for the service or activity concerned.

We obtain appropriate separate permission before publishing identifiable testimonials, case studies or promotional photographs.

7. OVERSEAS PROCESSING AND SECURITY

Some providers process information outside the UK, including through overseas hosting, support and subprocessors. Where UK transfer rules apply, transfers must be covered by applicable UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual clauses with the UK Addendum or UK International Data Transfer Agreement. Contact admin@empoweryourselfcoaching.com for information about the safeguards relevant to your information and how to request a copy.

Paper records are kept in locked files, and digital records are kept in secure, password-protected folders. Karen Johal currently operates the business without staff and restricts access to client records. Service providers process information as needed to deliver their services. No system is completely risk-free. We assess incidents and notify people and regulators where required.

8. RETENTION

We retain information for applicable statutory periods and only for as long as needed for its purpose, or a necessary and justified insurance or legal-claim purpose. There is no single legal retention period for all personal information. We assess sensitivity, purpose, relevant deadlines and insurer or professional obligations, review records and delete or anonymise information when no longer needed.

Unconverted enquiries: normally 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless the enquiry remains active or a documented reason justifies longer.

Consultation and session records: kept for the period needed to meet applicable insurer and professional requirements and to address relevant legal claims. The period depends on the service, record sensitivity and applicable requirements. Contact us for the period or criteria relevant to your service.

Matchmaking applications, profiles and feedback: during active service and normally up to 12 months after closure for follow-up, then unnecessary profile and sensitive information is deleted. Minimal contract, payment or dispute records may be retained longer where justified. Identity evidence is minimised.

Orders, invoices and accounting records: retain required company accounting records for six years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to, and longer where HMRC rules require it, including relevant enquiries or transactions spanning accounting periods. This accounting rule does not determine how long all consultation or sensitive records are kept.

Marketing records: while subscribed, with a review after 24 months without engagement. Proportionate consent evidence and minimal suppression records are retained where needed to respect opt-outs. Cookie choices follow the relevant platform's duration and refresh requirements. Security records are retained only as needed for monitoring or a specific incident.

Records are securely deleted or anonymised when no longer needed, subject to justified legal holds. Backup copies are removed or overwritten through the relevant storage provider's backup cycle and are not used for routine business purposes after deletion.

9. RIGHTS AND COMPLAINTS

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to legitimate-interests processing. Exemptions may apply. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful use. We explain any impact on supplying a service if necessary information can no longer be used.

Contact admin@empoweryourselfcoaching.com. We may verify identity proportionately and normally respond within one month, explaining any lawful extension. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. You need not contact us first.

10. REQUIRED INFORMATION, COOKIES AND UPDATES

We explain mandatory fields and the consequences of not supplying information needed for a service or legal obligation. Optional marketing or unrelated sensitive details are not a condition of making a simple enquiry.

See the Cookie Policy below for cookies and similar technologies. External sites have their own privacy notices. Our services are for adults aged 18 and over. We update this notice when practices change and highlight material changes where appropriate.
